WHITE LION

White Lion was a hard rock or heavy metal band that was based in New York City, in the mid to late 1980s. the band consisted of Mike Tramp on vocals, Vito Bratta on lead guitar, James Lomenzo on bass, and Greg D’Angelo on Drum. Their first album is Fight To Survive, was the heaviest of their album. This album was released in the U.S in 1985 on Grand Slamm Records, a small independent label.
A record contract was then signed with Altantic Records, and the band released album “Pride” in 1987, their best – selling album to date. This album featured the hits “Wait” and “When The Children Cry’ that still popular till now and also included as nineties hits, and a favorite among beginning guitar players.
Big Game was the next album of White Lion, released in 1989. This album was not as big of a seller, but did produce a few hits, including “Little Fighter”. And the last album from White Lion was “’Mane Attraction, that released in 1991. It feature the hits ‘ Love Don’t Come Easy” and “Broken Heart”, which was originally released on “Fight To Survive”.
The Best of White Lion , produced 1992, was the last release by the original band..The band broke up, due to small album sales and because of the change in the music industry from rock to alternative. Lomenzo has since worked with Zakk Wylde in the band “Pride and Glory”. Mike Tramp worked with the group named “Freaks of Nature, and is now a solo artist. D’Angelo is working in recording studio, and Bratta is mysteriously dormant for now.
In 1998, rumors started circulating that White Lion may be reuniting. Mike Tramp met with Vito Bratta in New York City, but meeting was anything but successful. Tramp and Bratta both decided not to reunite the original band, so in 1999, Mike Tramp then released the album “RememberingWhite Lion” on Deadline Records. The album consisted of remakes of old White Lion songs, featuring Mike Tramp and a backup band. It is doubtful that the band will reunite anytime soon.
